Market Stall
Memorial G.Scarola
After the extremely hot previous experience, I decided that for the second market, it would be better to choose a time when the sun wasn't as intense.
And so, on June 4, 2022, I found myself in Varallo Pombia, Italy, at the "Memorial Giancarlo Scarola" event. It took place near the parish of Varallo Pombia, and the turnout was significantly better.
The presence of a youth football tournament final added to the curiosity, especially for the caricatures depicting their football idols.

It was wonderful to have a chat with these young people about the style and technique used to create the caricatures. Right from the start, it was the perfect way to break the ice and create a pleasant atmosphere during the evening.
I've always seen local festivals as moments when the community comes together to share parts of their time, enriching the sense of belonging to the territory where they live.
It's a unique opportunity to connect with people, share experiences, and strengthen the bond with one's community.

Suddenly, a girl arrives who had fallen in love with the exhibited paintings, and after a brief conversation, she commissions me to transform a photograph of her and her husband into a sweet illustration.
I sought to create an atmosphere that evokes the importance of a special moment, using vibrant and bright colors. As the subjects are the central focus of the entire composition, I aimed to make them stand out through a contrast of tones. The final result, the artwork itself, has given me great satisfaction both in terms of the print quality and the happiness expressed by the depicted couple.
I am happy to have created a piece that has brought them joy and captures the love that binds them.

Capturing the soul in representing something or someone is a complex process that requires patience and dedication. It is necessary to go beyond what the eyes can see.
This sense of fulfillment for every completed work fills me with new energy and drives me towards the next stage, the next illustrative creation.

As the moon had taken the place of the sun in the starry sky, it was time to go home. The evening had come to an end with a big smile because I had received positive feedback for all aspects of the event that day.
Instead of feeling tired, I was full of energy and brimming with new ideas in my mind. I felt confident that the upcoming events would be even better than this one.
